In a bid to cut down on fraud, UK car dealer ACF Car Finance has introduced the latest prevention software and scanning equipment in its showrooms across the UK. It is providing ID document checking technology to its dealerships following a successful trial at its flagship car finance showroom in Birmingham.
The software, provided by Experian and I-SEC Technologies, is similar to the technology used at many border control points around the world, and is intended for use at point of sale to detect identity fraud before any sale is finalised.
It comprises of software and a desktop scanner that helps to identify fraudulent documents such as fake driving licences and passports. The Funding Corporation, the parent company of ACF Car Finance, already carries out fraud checks at both the finance underwriting and loan activation stage, but the new scanner and data checker will mean that fraud can be detected at an earlier stage.
As part of the company’s commitment to protect its customers, The Funding Corporation has examined all types of potential fraud to their business.
