The Greenhous Group has become the latest large car dealer group to receive approved status under the Finance and Leasing Association’s (FLA) Specialist Automotive Finance (SAF) initiative. With half of the top ten dealer groups in the UK now having achieved approved status under the SAF initiative, there is increasing consumer interest in the scheme and its dealer directory, which helps car buyers find the nearest SAF showroom.
The SAF scheme was set up to provide confidence to consumers who either don’t know enough about the car financing packages on offer, or who want to know more about their local dealerships . The SAF Approved status was achieved by Greenhous after all their sales executives passed the SAF online competence test, which was administered by the FLA, meaning that they will be able to display the SAF-branded material in all their showrooms.
The SAF test will soon be extended so as to include a new test to aid dealers in preparing for changes under the Consumer Credit Directive .
Paul Harrison, Head of Motor Finance at the FLA, said SAF is a kite-mark to give consumers confidence about the motor finance information they receive. If customers are given clear and reliable information on why a particular product is right for them then this will give them the confidence to take out finance again in the future.
