UK car production faltering

New vehicle production figures are expected to be released today, detailing just how hard hit the UK car industry has become. Carmakers inclding Honda, Nissan, Toyota, Ford and Jaguar Land Rover have all announced job cuts and production delays, and the demand for new cars dries up.

With figures due to be released today, it is expected that the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders will call for further and urgent government assistance.
