According to car news, the troubled carmaker Saab Automobile may have a way out of trouble. Spyker, the luxury car company, is in negotiation with General Motors to buy the collapsing Swedish brand.
GM were planning to close Saab, but Spyker, who recently announced they were relocating their production to the UK, could rescue the 60 year old car marque .
A spokesman was reported as commenting: "In response to market enquiries, Spyker Cars confirms that it, together with its shareholder Convers Group, has expressed an interest in Saab Automobile AB."
Saab has reportedly not turned a profit since being purchased by GM 20 years ago. Whether a bid is forthcoming remains to be seen.
