Car dealer bucks national trend

Wed, 02 Dec 2009

A Honda car dealer in St. Albans has bucked a national trend by making Donna Nash their business manager. Car dealers, who offer new and used vehicles and a range of car finance deals, only employ under 10 per cent of the retail car dealer workforce.

Nash has now joined the team at the car dealer. At 38 years old, she has over a decade of experience in working for car dealers. Her new role will see her managing finance needs for her customers. She was reported as commenting: "I think for many people, it will be a refreshing change to deal with a woman when it comes to the finance. I’ve always enjoyed helping customers choose a car that’s right for them and this new role is an exciting step up for me, particularly during a challenging economic period."

The trend to not employ women may even be bad business, with the RAC Report on Motoring saying that eight out of ten company cars are chosen by females.
