According to a new study by Tesco Personal Finance, motorists around the UK could face soaring costs of repair bills following the end of their warranties .
The cost of driving is going up alongside the cost of living. Car finance, car insurance, road tax, and fuel bills are all climbing in price. With an estimated 400,000 drivers facing an expired warranty during this month, repair bills have climbed in price.
Tesco Personal Finance estimate that some £45 million could be spent on everyday repair costs in the next year. Tesco propose the solution could be their affordable Car Warranty Plan, which covers a variety of motoring faults and repairs that are not covered by standard vehicle insurance .
The head of insurance at Tesco Personal Finance, Allan Burns, reportedly commented: September is always a busy month for motorists as many drivers buy a new car . However this also means that the warranty on some cars expires which can leave drivers potentially facing huge repair costs. We find that drivers don't tend to budget for these alongside their other motoring costs so they can certainly come as a surprise. Tesco Car Warranty is simple, affordable and can really help to prevent additional motor costs.
