Millions are driving without insurance

Mon, 12 May 2008

A recent study indicates that as many as 1.15 million people have driven without car insurance in the last year. Sainsbury’s Finance indicate that the majority or those guilty of the offence were between 17-24.

To glean the results, Sainsburys surveyed just under 1000 people. Apparently some 10 per cent couldn’t afford car insurance, whilst significant percentages either couldn’t find the time or forgot to purchase car insurance .

According to the survey, London was the chief car insurance crime hotspot. Sainsbury’s pointed out that uninsured motorists cost those that are insured some £25-£30 extra on vehicle insurance policies.
