Getting a cheap green car to market could make one car manufacturer a lot of money, with green issues at the forefront of political agendas and public consciousness. Now, car manufacturers BMW, not known for their green vehicles, are stepping into the arena.
A new BMW car could come to market that operates by batteries and is intended for use within cities. By 2012, these cars could be on UK roads and being sold in UK car dealerships under car finance deals.
This type of car is particularly attractive for both consumers and the manufacturer because it offers zero emissions . For BMW, average carbon dioxide levels come closer to limits proposed by the EC, whilst for consumers a clean environmental conscience is the reward.
It seems that for major car manufacturers the green car message could finally be hitting home.
