As new
car
registrations are preparing to launch onto UK roads, with
Saturday March 1st the big day, thousands of
used cars will enter the market, as
car buyers part exchange to get the best deals. The leading
car auction
company in the UK, British Car
Auctions, has revealed findings that show why
used car buyers choose a particular
dealer .
The findings were part of the BCA used car market report, and
enquired whether buyers would rank fifteen key factors when it came
to choosing
a car from a dealer. The exact make and model was the top
choice.
The PR Manager at BVA, Tim Naylor, was reported as commenting:
Our research suggests that used car buyers often know exactly
what they want, with 50% having an ‘exact’ car in mind
and therefore hunting down the dealer that has that make and model.
Another important aspect of the
car buying experience is the support provided by dealer staff.
Consumers placed ‘friendly and professional staff’ as
their fourth most important criteria when choosing a particular
dealer.
The price was unsurprisingly the second most important, with the
offer of low
car finance only placing 14th out of a total 15.
