According to recent reports in the car finance news, drivers in the UK could be paid to switch gas-guzzling cars for greener vehicles .
Apparently, the government is looking into ways in which motorists could swap their environmentally-unfriendly cars for more ecologically sound ones. This could also save drivers road tax, under new legislation.
However, the Conservative Party have warned Labour not to alienate some driving demographics. Member Tim Yeo was reported as commenting: "The Treasury must also work to ensure these changes are not unfair to vulnerable groups. This includes looking at paying people to trade in their existing high-emission cars."
