According to reports in the American motoring news, two major US car manufacturers have formed a production alliance. Chrysler LLC will partner up with Nissan Motor Company, giving both crucial car market advantages that they would not have alone.
The two car companies had already announced a less extensive agreement, and were clear to stress that the arrangement is merely a production deal. Whether or not further financial ties are made between the two companies will depend on a variety of factors.
The senior vice president of administration and finance at Nissan North America, Dominique Thormann, was reported as commenting: "This is an OEM exchange. We don't have a business discussion ongoing currently."
According to experts in the US car market, Chrysler needs to diversify, and cannot stand alone without international expansion.
Both Nissan and Chrysler vehicles are available on the UK car market using a variety of car finance methods.
