Toyota, the major Japanese
car manufacturer, is creating a new car-assembly plant in
Northern
Japan, in an effort to create an even more efficient method of
production and high-quality manufacture. The news was announced by
car company officials this week.
The plant will be located in Miyagi Prefecture, and will be
complete by 2010. Every year, the facility will produce some
120,000
vehicles . The
cash
investment and models that will produced at the factory remain
to be seen.
Toyota said that the new
vehicle plant is an answer to changing market conditions, and
it will help make
Toyota vehicles even more efficient. The Toyota
brand hinges on a reputation for good mileage, and the
company have set up several new plants around the world. The
bulk of Toyota
sales come from around the world.
Over the first half of this year, Toyota sold more
vehicles than GM, the world leader in annual vehicle sales for
seventy years.
