USwitch, one of the major price comparison services in the UK which allows consumers to switch their bills from one provider to another in order to save money, has moved into the car market.
They have released a new personal finance channel based around car insurance . Uswitch is only seven years old, but it helps customers to compare prices on a number of different services, including credit cards, personal loans, current accounts, home bills, broadband and now car insurance.
The UK has a large population of cars, over 25 million, and any that are driven on public roads require an insurance policy . The Internet is becoming the most important route for consumers to seek competitive car insurance . Apparently, almost 75 per cent of people choose their car insurance policy based only on price.
The Head of Insurance at the firm, Aron Thompson, reportedly commented: The personal finance channel has been a huge success for uSwitch.com since it launched in 2004 and motor insurance, as the largest general insurance product in the UK, was the natural next step for the progression of the service. With more than 80 active insurers operating in this market, coupled with the many key developments including initiatives such as pay-as-you-drive for younger drivers, the market can be extremely overwhelming for consumers.
Car finance customers this month may also be looking for car insurance for their new vehicles.
