The comparison service Insurancewide are advising UK motorists to think twice before automatically renewing their car insurance .
Drivers in the UK face considerable expense already, with a number of different costs soon adding up. For instance, car finance payments, road tax, vehicle maintenance and MOTs can make driving in England expensive. Insurancewide suggest that to cut down on one expense, car insurance, drivers should look online for better deals.
Currently, insurance policies run on an annual basis and many insurance companies attach standard fees to keep customers in their policy. Reassessing your cover before your policy expires is essential to save money, particularly if your driver profile has changed at all.
James Harrison, of Insurancewide, said: Taking the easy option of simply renewing your existing insurance policy could mean you're throwing your money away. Think new car, new policy, or at least do your research online to check whether you could get a better deal.
