According to experts in the car finance industry, consumers throughout Europe are set to splash out on small, cheap cars in the near future . This breakaway niche market from the mainstream auto market looks set to grow substantially in the next decade.
According to expert analysts at the firm Roland Berger, buyers in Europe will look for many more basic cars sporting a tiny sticker price. The niche will become so popular that some experts are terming it a quiet revolution. Furthermore, analysts claim that this type of car market will soar at a much greater speed than the major car market, reaching 18 million units in the next six years.
Wim Van Acker, the co-author of the study, said: The segment is booming and is going to change the automotive sector. The other author, Ralf Kalbach, said: Buyers on a tight budget are soon going to have a lot more choices.
When compared to standard, larger models, small cars have many positive features. For instance, cars of this type usually cost less to insure and tax, and are also more economical to run. Furthermore, car finance can be easier to get for smaller amounts of interest .
