News yesterday was that General Motors, the largest car company in the world, are looking to a number of green production methods for the future. The revelations, which came from the Detroit motor show, are reflected throughout the industry and have spread to the UK.
According to a survey by the fleet management company GE Commercial Finance Fleet Services, nine of every ten car companies do have concerns about how ‘green’ their fleets are, but many simply do not know how to act. According to the survey, 90 per cent list environmental considerations has having the largest impact on fleet policy during 2007.
The study found that just fewer than 40 per cent had some kind of solution in place and just over ten per cent were going to implement a policy. With fuel prices rising, those companies who have car fleets have plenty on their plates.
