A car insurance expert has released a scathing criticism of a new car insurance offer by Alliance &Leicester . Despite offering some redeeming features, the new A&L deal is apparently disappointing, at least according to the insurance researcher at Moneysupermarket, Peter Gerrard.
The onus is on financial services providers to release dynamic, table-topping products into the marketplace, be they car finance, car insurance or others. Gerrard reportedly said that A&L have "a fantastic reputation for producing products which regularly top the best buy table topping products, yet when dipping their toes into the insurance arena it kicks off with a lacklustre average offering."
According to his analysis, other car insurance deals are considerably better priced. He did highlight some positives from the deal: "There are some useful features to the policy, such as a replacement car if the policyholder's damaged vehicle is less than a year old and your no-claims discount will be intact if you claim for emergency medical treatment or damage to the glass."
The product claims to beat any renewal quote by 10 pounds. As with any car expense, consumers would do best to get a free quote or shop around.
