A fresh guide by financial services group Halifax will help UK drivers looking for a used car .
Halifax Unsecured Personal Loans have released a guide that takes the consumer through several stages on their quest for a car finance loan . According to Halifax, potential vehicle finance customers need to work out how much they can pay each month, as well as meeting any criteria for a deposit or balloon payment at the end of a loan .
Halifax also include further advice, such as avoiding any risk of theft or assault by meeting the seller in a private place. The group also said that buyers should take care of buying an old car that has had a polish mutton dressed as lamb in other words.
The head of personal loans at Halifax, Neil Chandler, reportedly commented: "It makes sense to take your time and choose the right used car, but buyers should also ensure they do the same when it comes to financing it."
