Employees of one of Wales’ major car supermarkets fear the worst, following the closure of three outlets. Cars4U, launched in February 2002, has shut branches at Cardiff, Treforest and Caerphilly, leaving dozens of workers in confusion over their jobs .
Workers at the company were left standing outside the firm’s main Treforest branch, unsure of their situation. Cars4U UK employs about 50 people, whose future is now uncertain.
Furthermore, those customers who have bought a car with the firm, taking out car finance to purchase a new car, could face problems in the future.
One worker, an apprentice mechanic called Scott Thomas, reportedly said: I think I've just lost my job. We don't know anything and have just been locked out of the building. I can't believe this is happening.
The director, Franco Gallo, ran another firm called Ken Thorne Car Sales, which went into liquidation .
