The primary concern for car fleet companies is now the environment, according to fresh data from the company GE Commercial Finance Fleet Services. Their study, entitled Company Car Trends Report, found that over 90 per cent of car fleets list the environment as their top concern.
The managing director of GE Fleet Services, Rich Green, reportedly commented: Green issues have nudged duty of care considerations off the top of the fleet agenda for the first time in a number of years. The question is though, what action will employers take to green their fleet? Thanks to the CO2 based company car taxation scheme, most have already dramatically reduced their emissions of greenhouse gases in recent years but what further steps can be taken?
Green cars and green motoring was a central tenet of the Chancellor’s Budget speech this year, with tax cuts and breaks for green vehicles that thought more about the environment.
